Celebrating Death
What is true knowledge? What gives meaning to life? Great thinkers have argued that the most reliable knowledge is that which we have the most certainty of. Focusing on certainties also means less doubts.
For all the knowledge that we know about life, one thing is certain: WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE. Shying away from this fact is running away from reality. So then, how should death be approached? Most people dread and fear death because of the apparent comfort they find in this transient life. Some embrace it and see it as a means of escape from a seemingly absurd life. This shows that one's attitude regarding death is closely connected to one's attituded concerning life.
Despite all the different views concerning life, Death's true face should be recognised for what it truelly is. If life is an illusion then death is the reality that wakes us up. If life is temporary then death should be a doorway to eternity. If life is filled with complex and unanswered questions then death is what will bring the answers. If life is a test then death is a means to a reward. If life is worth living then death is worth living for. If life is pointless then death leads us to the point. If life seems unjust then death is the great leveller... If death is inevitable...then death should be celebrated...Death, then, gives meaning to life.

A Peek at The Rising Power
Turkey is on its way to the top and its current state of affairs makes for interesting analysis. The Republic, 89 years into establishment, has a stronghold in the region that bridges Asia and Europe. Turkey has been campaigning for some time to be part of the Eurozone without success. This, however, has not stifled the country from improving its economy and extending its influence in the international scene.
From within, the former Ottoman Empire seems to be at odds with itself. The persistent PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) problem has seen the country divide itself into east and west. This long and bitter dispute between the Turkish government and the radical PKK has seen many lose their lives. Kurdish people originate from Iranian people in the Middle Eastern region known as Kurdistan (near Eastern Turkey). They form 18%-25% of the Turkish population. The main dispute at hand is the recognition of the Kurdish state and independence. But most of the debate has degenerated to hostility and racism among many Kurds and Turks.
On another front, Turkey also seems to be falling victim to the wave of western culture that is currently sweeping the world. There is large demand for learning the English language and a general interest in Western popular culture, especially among the youth. This has resulted in the slight decline of Turkish culture, especially in Western Turkey, and the disregard of religion. However, Turkey's "Westernization" has allowed the republic to be more tourist-friendly since foreigners can find it easier to communicate with the locals. Turkey is proving to be a fine place for destination with beautiful and historical places to visit. Visiting Turkey is more rewarding because most of the locals are warm and welcoming to visitors.
All in all Turkey is a country to look out for. Its people are passionate about everything and they are ready to see it become the super-power that it once was. Turkey does have some unsolved problems politically but it is stable nonetheless.

Introspection
What I think of myself after spending some considerable time alone, with no choice but to reflect: I am a lazy person. Im not as smart as I thought I was. Im lustful, yet I pretend to be in control of myself. I desire what other people have but I try not show it. I lie in order to impress others. I'm vain, Im judgemental. I'm selfish and self centred- I hardly share my possessions with anyone or willingly give away something that I value. I am the centre of the cosmos and everything else is, well, just everything else. I'm arrogant and I easily look down upon others. I have pride which I deem to be necessary. In my head I'm always right. I'm a hypocrite both in my thoughts and actions. At times I feel sorry for myself but show a brave face in front of everyone. I expect sympathy from people but reject it when its given to me......that is me in a nutshell- how bitter the truth is. But do I want to be all of these things? No. I want to be that which I pretend to be- a good person. I seek salvation, I seek contentment.

My first blog.
...just testing whether this thing works. This blogging business makes me wonder then; what is it that compels humans to disclose their deepest thoughts and opinions? What would happen if we kept everything bottled in?....I think I might have just answered my question
